Why Dog Whispering?
I became interested in Dog Whispering because I have seen so many dog owners struggling to control their dogs in a variety of situations from vet offices to dog parks. I myself had a dog aggressive female when walking on a leash. Instinctively I knew obedience training does not alter the issues that many dog owners, including myself, face daily. Through online research I discovered Mark German, America's Dog Whisperer. I particularly liked his methods because they are consistent and work with all dogs. The methods I'm referring to are the Four Essentials to a Stable Dog (c). I'm now proud to say that I am a Certified Level One Canine Behaviorist. With each new case comes more success and hope for the dog and the owners.

Why Dog Whispering?
I became interested in Dog Whispering after being involved in dog rescue for more than 8 years. I have worked with German Shepherds, English Bulldogs, small dogs and mixes of all kinds. Currently, I am the President and Founder of Rudy's Rescue a Labrador Retriever Rescue. I have seen so many dog owners give their dogs up to rescue, take them to a shelter or put them down when it is not needed. I myself have had experience with dog aggressive dogs, one of which caused me 25 stitches to my face a few years back. I thought that this was something that couldn't be changed - now I know different. The dog was just never told what she could do or couldn't do. Not to mention, I shouldn't have put my face within the reach of a dogs teeth.
While working with a particularly difficult dog at Rudy's Rescue - we asked for help from Mark German, Americas Dog Whisperer. I was drawn to Mark after seeing him at a Symposium - I saw that his techniques work because they are consistent. He was able to help us with a dog that was labeled as having separation anxiety. The techniques/methods I'm referring to are the Four Essentials to a Stable Dog (c).
I do know that everyone loves a well trained dog. I do suggest obedience training to everyone I come in contact with. However, whispering is not obedience training - it helps us to deal with behaviors such as barking, jumping, humping, digging and more. People can have a well trained dog that sits, comes and rolls over but still has behavior issues. Now, along with obedience, I suggest that everyone reads the book There's Hope! by Mark German and Janice Wolfe. This will help every dog owner to become a stable leader.
