Since the Katrina experience, Tara's Babies has evolved from a temporary rescue operation into an organization committed to saving lives through ongoing dog rescue efforts, life-long sheltering for dogs that cannot be adopted, an emerging foster care program, and adoption services. Tara's Babies has also gained experience working with very frightened and feral dogs, helping them learn to gain trust, so they can eventually be adopted into forever homes.

Bad Boy Baxter
"Andrea Bruce found Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix Baxter wandering the streets of Van Nuys, California, tagless and neglected. When the shelter scheduled him for destruction, she swooped in and adopted him. She made her way to Prescott, Arizona where she expected Baxter to flourish in the great outdoors. Only then did she realize that Baxter had severe dog aggression. In 6 1/2 years, Baxter has seen 6 dog trainers. His current trainer Mark German has been able to help Baxter with food aggression, cat aggression, charging, jumping, and walking, but his aggression with strange dogs on the walk has so far been impossible to fix. Andrea knows Baxter needs a lot of exercise but she also knows that the chance of a dogfight is high. She hopes that with Cesar’s help she will find the key to getting Baxter under control. "
NOTE: This dog was eventually sent to Cesar's Dog Psychology Center and was replaced with a different dog for the owner.
